I recently joined a company as IT support, i found that most of the machines were not on the domain.. after joining one machine i found out that the user desktop settings and icons were replaced with a new fresh settings.I switched back to local user copied the contents of c:/users/(username) to c:/users/(username).domain. after logging to the domain the icons appeared on the desktop but still i needed to manually change the background and other settings. we are using windows server 2003 server and XP pro clients (some are Vista!)
is there any method to switch the user into a domain while preserving his current settings and icons!??
