    Desktop shortcuts losing path

    I have about 20 taplet pc users that have never read pc’s for dummies. They connect wirelessly to the VPN, then try and open the shortcut directed to folders on the domain. They are actually having these problems. Sometimes when I recreate the shortcuts they work for a short time, but not long. Sometimes when they reboot, some of the shortcuts come back. If all of the tablets were having this problem, I would think it would be on the server, but they are not. Some of these tablet users are 500 miles away. Some of these guys might be looking at porn or dling virus attachments or anything. Could this be virus related? Also these tablets are about 3 years old, without regular maintenance. I know, I know…. Any help would be very much appreciated.
