Desperate Windows 2003 question !!!!

By e_canaan ·
Hello everyone,

How can I have windows 2003 SB server automatically create a home folder each time I add a new user to the domaine in Active Directory, and assign them full access to the folder.??

How can this be achieved?? Is it in GP or I need a VB script???

Please advise.

When you create the user, on the profiles tab, in the Home directory designation, choose the drive letter you want to map the home directory to, and then put the path in the path field. You can use the "%username%" variable (i.e., \\servername\home\%username%) in the path, and the folder will be automatically created with their user ID as the name and they will automatically have Full Control of the folder. If you are using some sort of template user that you then copy to create new users, you can add this to that user also and it will always be applied, along with all the other template settings, to each new user.

Hope this helps!
