DFS Root Migration to Windows 2003

By uellem ·
After migrating a DFS root from Windows 2000 to a Windows 2003 server, direct access to files in the DFS root via the local disk volume works as expected. However, access via DFS (on the same server, using the same account) doesn't allow the file to be modified even though it has NTFS 'modify' permissions on the files.

Please check the share permission on the DFS. If the share permission is more restrictive than the NTFS permission, you will not be able to modify that share of files in that share through the DFS.
