DHCP problems with Linksys WRT54G

by sean khan . Updated 22 years ago

I am on a Windows 2000 network, no AD, but it acts as the DHCP and DNS server. I am trying to setup a wireless access with a Linksys WRT54G. If I connect to the router in router mode, I get an IP address and can connect to the Internet, but I can not see any of the local network. This makes sense. When I connect in gateway mode, I do not get an address from the server. Static IP works but I want to avoid this, and I can get an IP when connected directly to the network. Does anyone know what I am missing? I want to setup this router as an access point with DHCP being provided by the server.
