DHCP Remote Site

By techview0505 ·
We have remote site in the same city being setup and will be on the same network. I have DHCP server in my main site, I want to use the main DHCP server in the main site and also for the remote site.

Can that been done? Any special part on my side besides setting up the scope for the remote side.

This is NOT advisable

You are adding a lot of unnessesary overhead on your wan connection, first of all.

Second, if ANYTHING happens to your wan connection, the entire remote location will go off line.

What are you using at the remote location? Most routers can easily handle DHCP, or dropping a linux server locally is another low cost solution.

If you are using a cisco router, I can provide you with the config for running the DHCP.

Post back if you need more assistance.
