Dialup RAS server disconnecting users...

I have a Win NT 4.0 SP5 server setup for RAS only. The modem is a SatisFAXtion 4-port 56kb faxmodem. I have four incoming lines with hunt capability. I have an 800 number pointing to the first line...

One of my users is reporting that the server is disconnecting him in the middle of sending or receiving emails. He didn't say exactly what the error message was. He uses Outlook Express 4 and dials the 800 number to get to the RAS server.

I looked at the Event Viewer on the NT server and notice that the reason for disconnect was "administrator's request". What does that mean? and what causes it to disconnect the user? The modem ports on the NT server is set to disconnect after 10 mins of idle, not before that!

Any ideas?

Apparently the Administrator has modified the connection for this particular user,he has added or modified the user permissions,to override the manual settings.
Check the user permissions at the Domain level.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wasn't it. I've finally figured it out. It was a TCP/IP Winsock issue. I upgraded to Winsock2 and it seems to be working fine now.

I think it's user security reasons. Try changing the user password first and check the user rights.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that wasn't it. I've finally figured it out. It was a TCP/IP Winsock issue. I upgraded to Winsock2 and it seems to be working fine now.
