You need to analyze your companies risk and find solutions that work for you.

No template, standards or any other crap is worth a damn since each company has different needs and what is acceptable to one may not be to another, even between standards.

Don't listen to all the vendors shouting from the roof top that their product is the end all be all of DR.

If you are unable to analyze your companies risk and find a solution based on that you need to hire a contractor to come in and do it, you will be much better off. Better to spend a few extra bucks on the contractor who knows what they are doing than design a DR solutions that doesn't really fit your companies needs and totally Fu*k over in the future when a disaster does occur.

Remember in a disaster this will be the ONLY thing you can go to. Make sure you get it right.

And possibly Software for a complete DR Plan. Sometimes what works for one Platform will not work as a Cross Platform solution.

If however you are just planning for a Software Crash and not the destruction of the hardware through Flood/Fire/Theft a straight Backup may be sufficient for your companies needs.
