disk coding

By byafnarpd ·
I recently took a trip to France for 5 months and all my pictures are on a CD that worked fine in France, but I can't seem to the pictures here in the states and I have been told that it's because it's regent coded. Is there any way for me to view my pictures here, if so how?

ThanX

There is 'region' coding for DVDs.

I have never heard of it for CDs, or image files.

There are a number of standard and proprietary image formats. Perhaps your images are stored in a proprietary format, and you need special software to view them.

What is the file extension of the image files?

Do you remember what program was used to view the images while you were in France?

I'm assuming its either a Kodak photo CD, or you burned them to CD-R. If so, and you flew home from Paris CDG Airport, their baggage scanners are renowned throughout Europe for 'erasing' CD-R's and CD-RW's!!!
