Dear Colleagues,
I am trying to set up a wireless network to extend an existing LAN. I am using D-Link Access points and D-Link PCI/ PCMCIA wireless NIC. I have 2 issues:
1. When I setup just one Access Point, everything connects perfectly well. Then I decide to enable encryption and use hex with shared authentication. Then only one client is able to contact the access point. All the other clients just freeze and the mouse goes funny. I have entered the encryption key correctly on all clients.
2. second issue is: If I want to set up the other access points (4 in total) as repeaters for the existing access point, will the 4 access points need to be patched into the LAN or is it simply a matter of setting them up as repeaters and pointing them to the MAC address of their ?master? AP. Would appreciate if someone could give me a step by step advice on how to accomplish this as the help files that came with the products are not detailed enough.
