DMZ and webserver placement

By nfaustino ·
Say, for example my current Network layout consists of a router/firewall with the LAN port to a switch. The DMZ port to the same switch but with a different subnet mask. I setup my webserver within that DMZ mask but the rest of my LAN is on a different subnet and IP range. Am I still protected?

Provided that the Web Server has no network Shares on it them n=most likely YES.

However if other workstations on the network are directly connecting to the Web Server there may be a major problem with Security involved but it shouldn't be any worse that your existing setup if I'm reading your question right.

It would be even better if you could create VLANs on your switch to correspond to the different subnets. Or you could just get two switches.
