    DMZ and webserver placement

Say, for example my current Network layout consists of a router/firewall with the LAN port to a switch. The DMZ port to the same switch but with a different subnet mask. I setup my webserver within that DMZ mask but the rest of my LAN is on a different subnet and IP range. Am I still protected?

It would be even better if you could create VLANs on your switch to correspond to the different subnets. Or you could just get two switches.
