DNS Issue?

By jhaggerty ·
I configured a new server. It has the same IP address as an old server that is no longer in the domain. When I do a ping with the old server name, it resolves to the IP of the new server.

I'm assuming I have some sort of DNS issue, but I can't seem to find the old record anywhere on my DNS servers. Is there a way to clean out old DNS records? Is there a specific place I should be looking for this hidden old record?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't forget you have DNS caching on the local machine as well

ipconfig /flushdns

and I would also do a:
ipconfig /registerdns at the server

Make sure your DHCP server is handing out the correct info.
