DNS Problem

By gialfam ·
Unable to install high speed cable internet access (RoadRunner) to my home pc (HP pavilion 6830). Instal'n tech claims DNS problem; current int. provider (MSN dialup) and HewlettPackard unsure of what this is or how to fix. RoadRunner will installas soon as I correct the problem but they say is for MSN or HP to resolve. Help!

DNS Problem

Simplify things. Can you ping an IP address on the Internet? Maybe you have a DNS server hard coded somewhere, but your install tech should have found that. Try a IPCONFIG /ALL to find your DNS servers. This sounds like a lie from the DSL people.
