Double-click not working

Double-click not working in Vista. Problem seems to be in user account profile since other users on same machine o.k. Have disabled user account control, unchecked tablet options and slowed mouse speed and acceleration, all to no avail.

Simple:- Create a new ID profile . . .

Then just copy any requirements to the new from the old.

Delete the damaged ID.

thank you for your reply. However, you do me the honor of assuming I am less ignorant than is actually the case. I have found roaming profiles, user account profiles, etc, but have no idea how to manipulate them. If you would elaborate a bit, I would be grateful.

I didn’t realise you were running with Vista.

My response was aimed at a user running Windows XP Pro, but the answer is still workable.

However, I cannot discuss ID profiles in Vista since I’m [b]less[/b] knowledgeable regarding Vista than you are!

Maybe another TR member can explain what I intended within XP. 😉

Thanks, but unfortunately the URL points to an XP fix. Apparently, Vista handles User Profiles quite differently. I guess I’ll try
learning more than I want to about Vista.

First it was driver chaos and now this. My momma told me not to go to Vista. Wish I’d listened and stayed with XP

I hope I have understood your question, here is my two sense. Try going to control panel and switch view to classic view. After click on folder options and make sure that you haven’t by accident enabled single clicking instead of double clicking.
