drive abnormally loaded

by shanghai sam . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I’ve been the target of Klez/Elkern, got my drive totally erased and reinstalled the OS: win2k.
the Volume size= 4,094 MB, formatted NTFS, Cluster size 4 KB, used space:2,956MB- although I only have the min of OS features installed, I have no otherfiles = I use a 2nd drive for my data & temp Internet files. There shouldn’t be more than a couple of hundreds of MB for the system files.
Windows defrag prog reports too much empty space within the system files, even after defragmentation. the funny thing is that this drive which I use to download email -that’s how I got the virus- has contaminated the 2 other drives I alternatively use with removal trays. and the same problem: too much free space within the data, unusual occupied space for the OS. I’ve used Partition Magic to delete & shred the volumes, thought that would let me with clean drives but after having reinstalled the OSes: same problem. First of all I have used the Symantec removal tool (klez/elkern).
Has anyone heard about this problem ?
thanks.
