Drive Mapping

By f-1548911 ·
Hi,
I'm running Windows XP with Novell Client 4.9.
The scenario I have is a user logs into primarily NT domain and need to connect to a Novell shared drive. His NT account uses his name as login ID and his Novell account uses U+6 numbers.

Does anyone know how to create a DOS command line script where I can hard codes all the Novell login info to connect to the shared without any GUI functions popping up other than the Novell password prompt

Going to be an issue since XP is going to be caching passwords to pass on to the NT server and then the Novell server.

This is a very common issue in mixed OS environments. My advice is to make all the user accounts the same across the environment.

Instaed of a batch file, use Auto admin login to manually login to the windows server/domain, and login to the NetWare server in the background, with what ever credentials. It's TID #10052847 in the Novell Knowledgebase at http://support.novell.com, I think this link will take you right to it:

Hope this helps.

Using old nwclient, write a batch file and put it in Startup folder.
You'll need to get nwclient files though. If I recall correctly the commands are as follows, but you'll more files than just these four:

lh lsl
3c90x (or DOS driver for your own NIC)
ipxodi
vlm
f:
cx .
cx <context_name>
login <user_name>

Forgot to mention, if your NetWare is pure IP, than you'll need IP NWclient instead of IPX one.

this is has to be installed and configured on evry local machine that wants to be a network pall..
