I am trying to get a internet connection to a pc on our Zoom DSL modem and Linksys wrt54g routered network. I have tried port forwarding on both the modem and router to the 4899 port RAdmin is desiring. I have also tried using tightvnc with ports 5900 and 5800 open on both. I have all ports required allowed in the firewall on both my Windows XP pro machines. With no luck connecting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

connecting a router to a router does not work well, especially if they are both doing NAT. Double-NAT breaks many things and slows the connection way down.
We have since hardwired the pc to the modem. I have set the port forwarding to the IP address of the computer. We still can not connect to the pc over the internet. We are trying to connect with UtlraVNC. Have the port setin both the windows firewall and router. Tested with a couple of port tetsers and it says the port is open.
