DVD video freezes

By Duncan.Mccorquodale ·
Recently upgraded to WIN2000 and now my DVD software player video will freeze (sound OK) after about 10 minutes. Tries several software players and all have same problem. I downloaded a couple of trial software packages, but they have a builtin 5 minute timeout which is not quite long enough. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that this is occurring on a WINBOOK Si2 laptop with a Toshiba SD-C2302 DVD-CDROM drive, 256MBs of memory, WIN2000 SP2. This worked fine on WIN98. No new drivers for WIN2000 available at WINBOOK site. I upgraded the OS, I did not do an install from sctratch.

I'm unsure but I found that when you do install from scratch it causes alot less problems, so I would try that however win2k can be pick not as bad as NT 4 but it is.If that still doesn't work wait for the patch, that is if they bother creating one,for win2k they sometimes don't for that kind of thing

In my experience don't use a trial version,,this version have a bug. that's why its free....Did you try the WinDVD try it....

MAke sure your video card are DVD supported,
What is the speed of your DVD drive...?

Or may be you don't have a DVD drive and you use a DVD software for VCD..if its like this may be you need to have a VCD(video) player software...
