Dynamic Local User problem

By vince_peschio ·
When a DLU created user tries to print to a local defined printer that has trays one and two disabled so output only goes to tray 3, on these pc's that have DLU users... the DLU appears to have changed or ignored the printer properites/attributes... thus output goes to the default paper tray when printing to that specific printer.

Any one have a solution to this issue?

Printer driver issue?

User does nto have sufficient rights to manage print jobs? (that is an advanced right in Windows 2000 and XP)

What OS is involved?

Two things come to mind. One, you can usually assign preferences in one of two places. "Printing Preferences" on the General tab of the Printer Properties page will apply to the current user only. Settings made in "Printing Defaults" made on the Advanced tab should apply to all users using a properly behaving driver. Alternatively, you can apply the preferences to the Default User profile which DLU user to buld the current DLU user profile - not neccessarily the preferable approach.
