Easiest way to Setup a Game Server!!!

By jshtcm213 ·
I have a dsl connection. 4 computers behind a router/firewall.

I recently bought a switch, so for this server project. Lets just say i have the dsl modem going to my switch, then from my switch to my pc. OK. How will the switch assign ip addresses and (will they be "dynamic"?). I have a server with all the game server files it needs, so it will only be used to host games (COUNTER STRIKE).
Then i want to have a client computer to join the games with. How can other computers (not in my house) join my game. How will it work, what configuration do i need. I know that for a client computer you can enter the ip address of the server you want to join. But what Ip address will the client use to join my server. Keep in mind im not paying for a static ip and the server will not be fully dedicated (meaning on all the time) Only when I want to host games.

So basically how do I setup this public server (only 4 people will access to server, cause I can create a password in the game)???? HELP!!!

THANKX IN ADVANCE

Hey you gave feedback on a question about athlon Vs. Intel and then did not rate the answers. If you want people to answer your questions you need to give them points in return. otherwise go to your local store and pay $50/hour or more.
