Establish trust for a NT PC to W2003

By 2005Newbie ·
BACKGROUN My network is Server 2003. I have one NT server(doing very light duty)that needs to be added to the domain. I get Event ID # 5513 indicating "lost SID" and to reestablish the trust relationship.
REAL QUESTION: How/What is the best way to add the NT server to the Windows 2003 environment???

Do you have Active Directory set up?

Is the Windows 2003 server a member server?

Is the NT server a member server or a domain controller?

If the NT server is a domain controller, it cannot be simply placed into the same domain as the WIndows 2003 server.

You will either have to perform an upgrade of the OS and place it into the same domain as the Windows 2003 server. Or create an external trust from the Windows 2003 domain to the NT domain.

Thanks for info; however, this machine was "toasted" from a nearly direct lightening strike.

Thus, it is not a problem any more.

My apology for being remiss in not closing this event.

I sincerely appreciate the help!!
