ethernet 10/100 trouble - win 98

By durb ·
Q:
I'm connected through a hub, everyone else, (6 of us), can download from my system fine. When I try to d/l something, it's VERY slow; except for 1 system which I can d/l from fine. (weird)
We all have 10/100 cards, sturdy cabling, (I'm at about 75m), and no conflicts. Have tried different NICs - no good. Using TCP/IP. Any ideas??????

I assumed that you are using peer-to-peer network. I also assumed that the 6 of you are sharing files when you refer to your "downloads." Try using NetBEUI protocol. Remove TCP/IP. Right-click on Network Netborhood then click Properties. Make sure that "Files and Print Sharing" is enabled (from Properties of Network Neighborhood, click "Files and Print Sharing..." button and check both options).

We've tried NetBEUI, file & print sharing are enabled. We are using client for Microsoft Networks. No good. (Everyone else has no problems, just me).
