ethernet frame compatibility issues

By sq3 ·
Regarding Ethernet ver 2 frame, 802.3 frame, and 802.3 SNAP frame,

Has anyone recently experienced a compatibility issue with these 3 frame types on their network or is that a thing of the past?

I know there used to be a compatibility issue with Netware "Raw" 802.3 frame format but that is a thing of the past, isn't it?

Thanks for any comments,

I am unaware of there ever being a "compatibility" issue with the various ethernet frame types. All the problems I've ever seen or heard about boiled down to a mis-match in the default frame type (server uses one, but the client uses another). It was common proactice in the early days of Windows9X to force WIndows to bind a specific frame types. And somewhere along the way, Novell changed the default frame type of a new installation from 802.3 to 802.2. Any good system admin figured this out pretty quickly.
