    Ethernet Splitter Box

    by shand1263 ·

    Hello,

I have a question about using an Ethernet Splitter box NOT a switch box.

My router is connected to a switch box and the house is hard wired CAT6 ethernet but with one socket per room.

In one room I want to use two ethernet devices and thought a pair of splitter boxes would be a simple solution.

Then I read that they are not a great solution as they restrict the speed. Can I use another switch box in that room instead? That would mean router to switch box to a further switch box. Or is that just stupid?

If I do go for the pair of splitters can anybody recommend a make? When I looked them up there are loads all made by companies I’ve never heard of.

    Thanks.
