You need to import table from excel workbooks. go to file get external data and select import and in the window select excel as the file type. Format the data to fit your DB. or format the excel workbook first then import it.

The user is very familiar with the process of importing the data, and that is how she does it, it that the Excel file type isn't there, even though Access claims the drivers are installed.

I believe I had the same difficulty when trying to import when the field names in the spreadsheet were not compatible within access. Try renaming the column head, field names. This may do the trick!

When you uninstalled Office did you run the Office clean program? If not try running Office clean. You can find it on your office 97 CD in the valupack folder. Then try reinstalling the program.
