Exchange 5.5 on nt4 upgrade to 2007sp1 on server 2008
I am a complete novice when it comes to exchange
but I have been tasked with the challenge of
Upgrading the network for a company I work for
The old network consisted of an antic nt4 server and 8 workstations
With 15 users accounts
since there is so little user accounts I decided that when I installed the new server to server2008
It would be better not to bring all the dirty laundry with me by doing an upgrade
So now I have the new network installed , server installed and the new domain up and running and all workstations
rebuilt and on the domain All that?s left to do is install exchange 2007 sp1 and bring
the last 15 years of emails from the old nt4 server exchange 5.5 to the new server
so my question is
can any tell me what is the best way to do this
I have been thinking that I can just install exchange 2007 on the new server and download the pst files from the nt4 server
And somehow attach them to the new exchange
I don?t know if this is really possible but it?s nice to think it?s this simple
but i no in real life where we deal with permisions and stuff its not going to be so clear cut
so If anyone has any advice on this or would like to point me in the right direction I would be most grateful
Thanks for any help in advance
