Exchange changeover

By LocoLobo ·
We are slowly moving from Exchange Server 5.5 on a NT network to Exchange Server 2003 on Win 2003. Both domains are running simultaneously. The domain names are slightly different.

Is it possible to configure the new Exchange Server to accept emails from both domain names? Then forward the email from the old domain to the recipients in the new?

You could configure a SMTP Connector (or IMC on 5.5) with an Address space for a specific domain and point the smart host to the other Exchange server...

set it up so Exchange 2003 recveives the mail for both domains. The older HW that 5.5 is on is past retirement age.

It looks like it's possible. I'm googling Exchange Server 2003 & Multiple Domains.

Thanks
