Exchange OMA not accepting logon

By smashandgrab ·
Hey all,

I have an Exchange 2003 server running on Windows 2003. Domain logins are XXX@companya.company.com. Email addresses are XXX@company.com.

Problem is when I configure an OMA client it tries to authenticate to XXX@company.com (smtp address) instead of the domain address (XXX@company1.company.com)and I am getting access denied.

I know I am missing something, but I can't figure out what it is. Anyone have a clue?

MX record

You'll need a MX record pointing to your mail server, get a MX reord created for something like remote.domain.com.

You will also need to configure your firewall and router to accept external requests to SMTP.

Check your installation against the steps listed at http://www.petri.co.il/configure_oma.htm.

Also, this site has a lot of good information http://www.howtonetworking.com/email/oma1.htm
