Exchange server 2003 with ISP

By sanjana8480 ·
Dear All,

We have windows server 2003 with exchange server SBS.
I have configured our domain name with my ISP MYISPNAME.
I also have configured the DNS settings with MYISPNAME (ISP).
Now can anyone tell me what all i will have to do to configure in my exchange server so my exchange can receive all mails coming to and then my exchange server should deliver all mails to internal users.
Thanks to all of you!

to get mails deivered successfully to your exchange and then to your internal users you have to make sure of following few things.

1. you must have MX record entry in DNS with ISP which point to your mail server IP address.

2.Also you should keep secondary MX entry in case of failure. Also make syre of reverse DNS entry for your mail server. must have your your internal IP address NATTED with external IP address if you are using firewall.

4. Make sure you have port 110(pop3),port 143(IMAP) and port 25(smtp) opened for easy flow of mail but it is not recommonded as default port leads to spamming.

Hope rest configuration of exchange server cam be done. if in case you face any problem please post here.

Hope it will be informative for you.
