Is it ok to delete IIS log files on C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. BTW are you familiar with this directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\W3SVC1?. Is it ok to delete the log files on this? Found out that those log files are the main reason why we are getting low disk space everyday. Can i just delete or transfer the log files on the other drive in our exchange server. Thanks

Log files

Yes, they just keep a log of who logs in and what pages they access. You can turn them off if you wish in the IIS Manager console in the properties of the default web site.

Don't forget the SMTP log files

They can eat up a lot of space. I'm not sure how your server is set up, but they are usually located under the c:\windows/system32/logfiles directory.

You can redirect them to a drive with more space, but I usually only keep a month or 2 because they eat up disk space like crazy.

Low disk space warning disapeared

by 41991437 In reply to Exchanger server getting ...

The low disk space warning is the windows built-in alert to indicate that there is not enough space for the applications and data.

In this condition, there are two ways to solve:

1. Delete some of the files to spare out more space.

2. Extend the exchange server to a larger size. here is a detail: http://www.partition-tool.com/partition-magic/server-partition-resize.htm
