You need to check the content of config.sys and autoexec.bat files. There shoud be a EMM386.exe. This one configures the expanded memory. You could check the ones on your friends computers and see what are the parameters for this.

It would help to know what operating system you are using. If you're using Win95, you may need to run the game in a DOS box and establish a CONFIG.SYS and/or AUTOEXEC.BAT that set the correct EMS parameters using the EMM386.EXE program.

Check the requirements for the game. If you are running under Win 95 or 98 you will need to set up a PIF file for it to run under either of these OP's.
Check your friends machine to see if there is an Aladdin.PIF file present. If there is open it and copy the settings. Then construct a PIF file on your machine.
Another possible is that you may not have the EMS set to the optimum. From here you should run Memmaker under DOS. This will optimise your system and give you the option of setting EMSand XMS.
Failing this sent the details of you system and the requirements for the game and I'll write the PIF file for you.

I assume that you are using Win 95 or 98, as you didn't state what operting system you are using.
Goto
Start - Run type in SYSEDIT then click ok
go to Config.sys file.
be sure you have the command at the beginning of your config.sys file

C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS
DOS=HIGH,UMB

then click on File - Save in the menu bar.

Good luck

Try these options

Config.sys
Device=c:\windows\himem.sys
Device=c:\windows\emm386.exe RAM
Dos=High, UMB

NOEMS in the EMM386 line tells it NOT to emulate Expanded Memory. You'll probably need to keep track of Conventional Memory (first 640K). EMS starts after first 1Meg. Space between 640K and 1 Meg is called Upper Memory Blocks (natch UMB). You must have RAM in the EMM386 line to ENABLE EMS Memory EMulation. I can elaborate on this more. E-Mail me if you need more info. Don't want to waste your time with un-needed info.
