Abit Motherboard power-up problem..

by The Herminator In reply to Failure of Abit IT7 Moboa ...

Hello,

As an independent builder of desktop and high-performance PC systems, I can suggest the following scenarios why your PC may not be booting up:

I believe you are performing an upgrade from an old ATX PC, case and power supply?

In thatcase:

1) The power supply could be wrong for the type of motherboard you are using.
a) There are many types of power supplies for different motherboards and by using an old power supply with a new motherboard, could be a problem! The new motherboard could require voltages of a certain size and the old power supply may not be able to deliver it/them and hence you will not even get the PC to switch on.

2) The motherboard could also be faulty! Do you have a voltage light on the board to show when you connect, to show whether any power is going to the motherboard?

If you need any more help - my e-mail is hermanlc@hotmail.com
