FAT to NTFS

By DennisW ·
I converted a FAT(16) partition to NTFS(System drive E:) and after this the programs already installed ask for the login data of \\....\E$.
What should i do to prevent this from happening?

Boot in to NT and click Start>go to system tools and click on drive E and the right click to drop down list and select to convert this drive to NTFS.

Dennis,
Was the Fat Partition the E: partition before the conversion or was it defined as a different drive. Also have you set any premisions to this device by default it should be useable by the Special Group everyone. if that group is not there you may what to add a group of the user that you wish to use this device. After that what version of NT are you running it may be a Share issue with the way your apps look at that device

The computer i mentioned is a member of a domain, the users log in on the PDC.
After the conversion the computer must be deleted from the PDC and reapplied again.

So your answer couldn't help me here,
Thanks.
