file extensions

By CpuFixerJr ·
Every once and a while I run across odd-ball file extensions. I was wondering how hard it would be to create a list of some of them and what program is best to open them with. Is this a good idea or a bad one, comments would be appreciated

You didn't specifically ask for this, but I use a program call WhatFormat to help determine how to open unknown extension files. It will help identify what program created the file and then you can decide how to open it. You can get it at http://www.jozy.nl/whatfmt.html

I look for the source of oddballs on www.whatis.com They are pretty good about adding extensions to the list if you tell them about it.
