Firewall Configured IPs and a Crashed DHCP server.

by barodian_da_dude . Updated 17 years, 2 months ago

Hi all,

I want to know one thing for my knowledge that if I have a hardware based SONIC firewall on which some of my client computers are configured with specific rights by their machines IPs. If I have two DHCP servers running on network one is Primary and other one secondary having same scopes having 80/20 rule of DHCP. Primary server assigns Ips to all clients. if the primary server fails than secondary comes up and servers Ips to clients. But the clients Ips which are configured on firewall will no longer able to access anything outside. what kind of actions could be taken to manage this kind of situation? you kind help would be highly appreciated.

thanks in advance.
