Firewalls used to limit internet access

By lcushman ·
I would like to limit the websites that my users go to. Also, once the users are in the www, what can I use to keep them from going from approved sites to unaproved sites?

I use Checkpoint's FireWall-1 for the firewall and Web Sense for the content filtering. That combination allows me to automatically download a database nightly. The applications then use that database to screen the surfing content. It's FAIRLY easy to use and quite reliable. I have great flexibility using this system.

I use Raptor Firewall and they have a product called WebNot that works in the same way as the Firewall-1 product.

You can find more information about the product on

Try WinRoute

Raptor and Checkpoint are a joke compared to WinRoute 4.1 ( WinRoute can read your usrmgr and get a list of users then you can assign those users a list sites to visit only so all other links off the site will return a 404 forbidon. Also you can configure what to do with any packet and who to route it to. Basically a very configuable firewall and proxy server all in one. It makes all others I've seen look like a joke (at least the software ones). To boot it is very fast!
