Floppy disc drive problem

By tech_mind_48 ·
The floppy drive is not working.

I changed the flat connecting cables, checked the BIOS settings, and also installed a new floppy drive.

The light on the drive lights on clicking on the icon in My Computers, but the error messgae received if A:/is not accessable. The device is not working.

The problem is in the floppy drive controller on the motherboard.

How to rectify this problem.

Any solutions?

IF all your diagnosis is correct

.
If you are certain that all troubleshooting steps have been tried, and if you are absolutely certain that the floppy drive controller on the motherboard is the cause, then there are only two ways to fix the problem.

1. Replace the motherboard.
2. Install a separate controller card.

I'd choose number 2
