FLoppy diskette

By jcolome ·
I have a situation at work whereby students are using the lab computers and sometime these computers at random change the format of the floppies to RAW. Any ideas what can be causing this? Could it be the disk drive gone bad?

I would suspect a virus, or a rouge application.

There is nothing in a floppy drive that can "change" the data format without instructions from the controller.

It also could be from a corrupted IDE driver.

May be, it is bad.

Check the for Boot Sector Virus to make sure

But in some cases it is made by student..
Is the student all beginners and don't have idea to change the setting in the BIOS. Hope all of the student are not intruder..
