flushing MAC address from cisco switchs?

by duncan_hills . Updated 19 years, 5 months ago

For some time now, i’ve been plagued by this problem:

Unfortunately I know nothing about cisco switches, hence connecting to it to look for the problem would probably not be a good idea.

I get a limited connectivity network occasionally on some of our machines, claiming a failed authentication due to no availability of our domain controller. But when I use a different laptop or machine on the same port it connects to the domain fine.

This is what leads me to beleive that the switch is holding information related to the mac address on the particular terminal (or it could be some authentication data in the registry??).

I have checked all security protocols on the terminal (when it occurs), checked terminals location in AD etc, used packet analysers which shows what is possibly switches asking questions but are asking for what looks to be information on another terminals name (could the AD machine database be corrupted?)

Any help or further clues would be really appreciated.
