Folder on Network Drive Invisible.

By chubbmaster ·
Please help,

I am runnign XP Pro SP3 clients with a Windows Server 2008.
I am in the process of permissioning folders on the with Global Security groups and adding users to them.
Annoyingly when I assign a group to the folder the folder disappears from view on the user's network drive. If I permission the individual it's fine. Can anyone help? Choclate bar top the winner.

checked your permissions on the group. It does sound like a permissions problem somewhere.
Good Luck.

Double check permissons policy

Same thing happened to me. Best thing to do (if you dont have 500 PC's that is) assign them individually rather than as a group.
Problem with mine was (windows 2003) although I managed to have the network drive re-appear by making the folder hidden in Computer Config > Shares and then only making it visible to the group intended for that folder. But his time no one could access it.
So I did all of them individually, best way.
