    Folder Permissions

    Locked

    by georgevarghese.prince ·

    Hi

I have a Folder on my win 2003 file server say folder name is TEST and I have a group say TESTusergrp. I want to give permission to members of the TESTusergrp to have access to the folder TEST and that they can create modify any files but they should not be able to create any subfolders under the TEST folder

I have tried to set the permission to deny the creation of subfolders but then it takes away the write permission on the folder, people are not able to save or modify any files

Can you suggest somethig else to help me please.

    Thanks
    George

Got the “Advanced” button of the “Security” tab of the folder in question. In the “Permissions” tab you should see the group that you gave permissions to. Double-click on the group and take the check out of the “allow” box for “Create Folders/Append Data”.
