Folders under mailbox in Outlook

By kcranmer ·
Silly question. In Outlook, do all the folders in a users mailbox reside on the Exchange server (2003) even is the folders are not subfolders of the users inbox?

Re: Exchange

Yes, all folders listed under the user's mailbox (inbox, contacts, deleted items...) reside on the Exchange server, including any folders created by the user within their mailbox. Folders such as archive folders and other Outlook Data Files (.pst files, for example) are not stored on the server, but locally on a hard drive.

Let me know if this is helpful or you have further questions. Thanks.
