Depends on what you mean format to NTFS.
If you have a current harddrive that runs windows 2k or windowsXP and the installation was carried out on a FAT32 drive then you can boot the PC into Windows then simply click start > run and type CMD in the run command.
This will open the DOS window from here you can type in the following command
convert C: /fs:ntfs
(where C is your current drive. If you have partitions on the drive then type in the same command only with the appropriate drive letter)
This will convert your current Harddrive from FAT32 to NTFS without the need to format keeping all your current files/data.
If you want to format however, you can format the drive by starting the PC with the windows 2k/XP installation CD in the drive and then format the drive once you get to drive specificatio options.
Simply choose format this drive rather than leave current drive intact.
