Foveon X3 CMOS Sensor

by vegatecgroup . Updated 23 years, 4 months ago

I have been working with a company that is distributing the Foveon X3 CMOS sensor for the past couple of months. I just want every one here to be aware of this amazing technology. This CMOS imaging sensor changes everything in digital imaging. I have seen the sensor work in the Sigma SD9 digital SLR camera and the pictures are fantastic. No artifact filters, no complex interpolation software and the images are as clear and aberation free as cameras costing much more. The only thing holding thistechnology back is that Sigma was the first company to adopt it for general consumer use. Sigma has always been a lower end camera producer, although their lenses have improved dramatically in quality. The only other camera maker using the technology is Hanvision, however this company is using only the industrial/commercial grade sensors. The industrial grade sensors are much more expensive than the sensor used in the Sigma. The Hanvision cameras are of course geared towards the machine vision,R&D, aerospace, military, biotech, etc. industrial/commercial markets. Take a look at these websites for more information:
