Before I defrag my hard drive – I want to know how fragmented my hard drive is.
In Windows 95 – when you open Defrag – before you start the defrag – in the dialog box, it tells you how much the drive is fragmented. (1%, 10%, etc.)
In Windows 98SE – it doesn’t tell you.
How do you tell how much the drive is fragmented in Windows 98SE?
I opened Defragmenter in W98SE – at the intial screen – there are 3 tabs at the bottom – OK – Exit – Settings.
If you then click Settings – all it does is give you some options.
To start Defrag – if you click OK – and it starts running -there are then 3 tabs at the bottom:
Stop – Resume – Show Details
I clicked Show Details – a white window came up – but no where did I see anything like: Drive Fragmented 12%, etc.
How do find out how much your hard drive is Fragmented in W98SE before you start the Defragmentation Process?
