FSRM for Windows Server 2003 Standard SP2

By Aravinds1611 ·
Hi,

We have a File server with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and Service Pack 2 applied to it.

We would want to use File Server Resource Manager component which through research we understood comes with R2 version.

Is there a patch available from Microsoft to install FSRM on our server ?

Is there a workaround to have that feature available ?

Thank you for your suggestions.

Best Regards,
Aravind.

Thanks for the reply..

found this with Mircosoft KB.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912309

would that be possible with W2K3 STD Edition SP2 ?

our motive is to prevent users storing multimedia content in shared network folders and apply storage limit policies.

Thought we could do it with FSRM.. would you suggest any other third party tool
