FTP Folder Error

by robert mckenly . Updated 20 years, 11 months ago

Hi, I want to setup ftp on my computer for sharing files with my friends, but I don’t know how (could not get it to work). I use Windows XP Pro SP2, linksys router BEFW11S4, DSL with dynamic
ip. So far I installed internet information services (IIS). I already setup a free services dyndns.org with a user name and password. Setup (ddns) in my linksys router to update ip with dyndns.org.

Now I need to setup the FTP on my computer so my friends can access.I don’t want to use other ftp software, just the native IIS.

The problem is when I typed ftp://name.ftpaccess.net for example, I get a FTP Folder Error:

“Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Details: The connection with the server was reset.”

Please anyone can assist, I will be mostly appreciated !!!
