By robert mckenly ·

ip. So far I installed internet information services (IIS). I already setup a free services with a user name and password. Setup (ddns) in my linksys router to update ip with

Now I need to setup the FTP on my computer so my friends can access.I don't want to use other ftp software, just the native IIS.

The problem is when I typed for example, I get a FTP Folder Error:

"Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder. Details: The connection with the server was reset."

Please anyone can assist, I will be mostly appreciated !!!

Firstly if your router is anything like mine, you will not be able to access the ftp from inside. (E.g. Any pc that uses that router to connect to the outside world)
To get round this, you would have to type ftp://servername/directory. You still might get permission denied, but you won't get the connection with the server was reset.

Ensure the folder that the ftp is pointing too has anonyomous access. That way anyone can connect. Else try if you require user security access
