    G4 powerbook wireless networking

    Locked

    by billenium_uk ·

I am trying to access the internet wirelessly at home using a G4 apple powerbook, the laptop has the standard built in card for wireless networking, so all i need to do is get a wireless access point.

I currently have wired network with three windows pc’s connected to a router, and was wondering how to go about using this ISP wirelessly with the Apple laptop, can i simply connect to it using a wireless access point plugged into the existing router, or will i need An apple airport base station?

      Either way would work.

A wireless AP will work fine, but make sure you get the correct
standard. If the wireles in your G4 is 802.11 B then any B or G
wireless would be fine. If the card is G then make sure you get a
      G.

One thing though is that the Airport is a great device and is very
easy to manage with the OS X tools.

      Good Luck,
