GNS3 Help-console issue
I'm in need of your brain! I'm running Vista 64 bit host, XP 32 bit guest via vmware server 2.0; I can see each other just fine etc etc...the problem is using GNS3 on either side and the console connection. The application/window comes up, but there is no response. I've changed the com port from 1 to 2 to 3 etc..moved it to a usb to serial with no luck, configs on the app itself to use hardware/xon-xoff/none; different bauds; adjusted the firewall to allow tcp, udp and icmp replies; turned the firewall off all together, as well as kaspersky.
I'm at a loss on what to try next--I've been to a good number of sites today to try diffenent methods all of which didn't help--I've tried Putty, SecureCRT, windows telnet client (both allowed on Vist, and native on XP); turned off DNS service, rebooted after every change clean it up-all still have no effect.
The summary is that that telnet application will come up under any method..it's the response to the app (eg after the screen comes up showing the green putty COM1 etc; I hit return a few times (even waiting a minute), though it has no response.)) This is consistent across the various vendors too; so I'm really baffled.
If you have any ideas, please let me know--would really like to get it working to continue studying--
Thanks!
