OK, at my school, we use a program called gradequick. We want to implement a new version of grade quick on the macs so finally ALL computers can be mac os x instead of having one OS 9 and the rest os x. Now, each user is authenticated through the ldap server. Then based on user specifics, they either have access to gadequick on not.
But anyway, the problem is, we have the gadequick installed on the Novell server, now, when a user launches grade quick, they must have mounted there Novell directory, NOT THE OS X servers directory.
Grade quick should find the path, and prompt for authentication, but does not.
But we think that since Novell uses a different “what do you call it” “\\” or “//” than the macs, its not communicating correctly with the software running on the Novell box.
But anyway, all this info is uploaded to an AS400 that does the rest of the work.
So if anyone can sort though this all and help us out then it would be great.
